A few weeks ago my family & I went on a little shopping trip to Palmanova. Since we finished our shopping there early, I managed to convince them to make a little stop in Tiare on our way back home, so I could have a browse in Sephora. I guess they’ve just released the new Too Faced Sweet Peach line, because I’ve stumbled upon a full display. Without thinking, of course, I grabbed the nearest eyeshadow palette and took it to the cash register. And you know what? I don’t regret it one little bit!
Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette consists of 16 fresh-picked shades, infused with the juicy scent and antioxidant-rich essence of peach. They come packaged in a lovely tin box with peach design and actually smell like peaches – it’s kind of funny, you can smell the palette across the room, but once you do your make-up with it, the scent disappears. There’s a nice mirror on the inside of the lid and you also receive a beauty booklet with instructions for three different looks. The only thing that bothers me is the closing system, which is the same with both Too Faced palettes I own. The magnet works nicely when you keep the palette safely at home, but it probably wouldn’t survive traveling without opening halfway through – that’s why you should keep the original box too.
I’ll be honest (as per usual) – there are winners and losers in this palette. Too Faced promises “rich and pigmented eyeshadows that offer true color payoff, but the pigmentation varies quite a bit. Matte shades are soft and almost creamy, shimmers need a bit of layering to show their true beauty and both purple shades are a nightmare to work with. Eyeshadow base definitely makes a huge difference when it comes to pigmentation, so be sure you use it if you decide to buy this palette. Other than that, the eyeshadows are easy to apply, blend nicely and last incredibly well – a few weeks ago I was at a party, went to sleep with my make-up (I know, so bad) and woke up with my eyeshadows still intact. Can you spell winner? 😉
