Half of July is already gone and I’m just now getting around to posting my favourites… I suppose it’s better late than never, right? June was a mix of old loves and new discoveries for me which shows in my monthly favourites too. Let’s see what I’ve been loving the most.
For the past two months I’ve been on a mission to get my skin as good looking as I can, the end-goal being not having to wear any foundation to be pleased with it. So that’s pretty much what I did in June – a dab of concealer under the eyes and ready, set, go. My favourite concealer hasn’t changed in months, it’s still Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer in 010 Porcelain. It has a great coverage, lasts well and makes my under eye circles a whole lot better. If I reached for the foundation, it was Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation in 100 Ivory. I picked up this gem when it first came out and I love it – it’s very light on your skin and gives your skin a dewy finish, making it look healthy and even.
Another great product is Artdeco Setting Powder Compact, a translucent powder which helps your make-up last through out the day without drying out your skin. I love this one and always keep it in my purse. Keeping my daily make-up minimal, I switched my blushes for highlighters. On the picture you can see an old favourite which I still love using, Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora.
Make-up: Eyes & Lips
Most of the time I went easy on the eyes and lips as well. One staple in my routine has been the Deborah Milano Watery Mousse Eyeshadow I’ve had for quite a while. It’s water and sweat proof, a pale gold shade that can be used as an eyeshadow base or on it’s own. I’ve been going back to the winged eyeliner look I used to rock daily and tested out many pen eyeliners in the process. Currently I’m obsessed with Avon Mark Eyeliner I received at a beauty event. It takes a while to get used to it, but it’s pure black and lasts for hours without smudging. I finish the look with Artdeco Color & Care Mascara. It makes my lashes long and thick without clumping them. Win! My favourite lipstick at the moment is MAC in Modesty.
I’ve been wearing Converse Allstars for more than 10 years now and I still love them dearly. Some time ago a new line has come out and I just couldn’t help myself… I got two pairs to add to the five I already own. Whooops. Both pairs come from the same line with golden cap. Can you say love at first sight?!
Shows & Reads
I’ve been watching Pretty Little Liars since the very first episode and don’t really care to count how many times I’ve re-watched it so far. Can you believe it’s been seven years? I sure hope I. Marlene King puts her amazing mind into creating something as epic as this was. And yes, I am re-watching it again as I type this.
The book I’ve read and liked has a similar vibe – a mystery revolving around a female protagonist and her girl friends. I’m talking about The Girls by Emma Cline. The book is a bit dark and inspired by the Manson murders but well-written and easy to read.
So, what are your current favourites? 🙂
