Some time ago I received this lovely bunch of goodies from Misslyn and I’ve been testing them ever since. I have a few of their nail polishes and lipstick, but that’s as far as my collection went. To be honest, I was smitten with these beauties the minute I first saw them – just look at the cute packaging! But, of course, there’s more than meets the eye so let’s see how they perform.
Eye Love It Eyeshadow Palette – ‘I Got My Eye On You’
True Love: shimmery warm dark brown
First Kiss: shimmery copper brown
Keep Calm: light nude with slight shimmer
First Date: hot pink with slight shimmer
Stay Cool: shimmery taupe
Keep Flirting: matte light nude
There are two different palettes available and each one consists of six complimentary shades. Both come in cute cardboard packaging, along with a mirror and a tiny brush. The palette I received is called ‘I Got My Eye On You’ and has a nice selection of warm tones. All of the shades are quite pigmented, the only exception being Keep Calm which needs a bit of work to show on your skin. These are lovely to wear and apply easily, the only downside being that they’re a bit chalky and have some fallout. My favourite shades are First Kiss and Stay Cool, the only one I can’t really see myself using is First Date.
Lip Candy Palette – ‘Pink Kiss Edition’
Plum Jelly: deep plum with soft shimmer
Bonbon Kiss: dark reddish pink
Candy Is Dandy: bright shimmery pink
Lollipop Pink: soft Barbie pink
Sugary Smile: light shimmery rose
Strawberry Ice Cream: light cold rose
There are two different palettes available and each one consists of six different shades. As eyeshadow palettes, both come in a cute cardboard packaging, along with a mirror and a tiny brush. My palette is in the shade ‘Pink Kiss Edition’ and offers a variety of pink lippies. The lighter shades are unfortunately quite similar, as you can see above, but I do love the darkest two! All of them are well pigmented, but I wouldn’t call them lipsticks – more like a lip balm with great colour payoff. These are nice and soft on your lips, but tend to wear off if you drink or eat.
Treat Me Sweet Powder Blush – ‘Be My Flamingo Forever!’ & ‘Be My Blush Crush!’
Same cardboard packaging, just a bit smaller and without the brush inside. Blushes come in six different shades that range from nudes to pinks. The ones I received are both lovely and perfect to wear in the summer. ‘Be My Blush Crush’ is a tan shimery nude and I fell in love with it instantly – these kinds of shades are my favorite and work well with my skin tone. ‘Be My Flamingo Forever’ is a matte coral pink that looks quite daunting in the pan and I was afraid to try it out, but it blends out nicely.
Glow For It! Strobing Powder
Yellow-toned highlighter that looks gorgeous in the pan – champagne shade with strong shimmer and even some tiny glitter in it. Lovely as it looks, it’s quite a project to apply evenly – I suspect glitter is the culprit here. If you’re into strong highlighter game you should check it out, but it may be too much for those who prefer more toned down looks. This is the only shade available.
Beach Please! Bronzing & Contouring Powder – ‘Hi from Hawaii!’
One out of four bronzers in this collection and I think this might be the darkest shade available. A dark matte brown that I find too strong for my skin – it would be perfect for darker and tanned skin though. The pigmentation is nice and it applies evenly so I might check out the lighter shades. This one will get a new home with someone who can actually pull it off.
On my last stroll through the local drugstore I’ve noticed that these became a part of their permanent range and there are some new shades available, so do check them out when you’re around! 🙂
Have you tried any of these? What is your favourite Misslyn product?
