September 2017 beauty and lifestyle favourites

Anyone else excited about autumn or is it just me? 🙂 Out of all, autumn is my favourite season and I find it incredibly beautiful. I just love the crisp air, warm colours everywhere, hot drinks and cozy places. Switching my light summer make-up routine for darker, deeper and edgier shades. Not to mention (fake) leather jackets, boots and layering your clothes for the ultimate effect. My September favourites are still pretty light and summery, but I’ve recently changed my routine and added a few new bits to my collection so stay tuned for those! 😉

Beauty Favourites: Face

September was all about making my summer tan last a little bit longer, so I kept my skin fresh and traded my blushes for bronzers. Whenever I reached for foundation it was usually L’Oreal True Match super-blendable foundation. I find it pretty light on my skin, it doesn’t clog my pores and has a nice coverage and finish. I have mentioned it before here.

My favourite discovery of the month is Bourjois Sculpt Bronze sunkissed highlighter, a gorgeous gold shade that I used daily. You can apply it on its own as a highlighter or take a few drops and mix them with your foundation to add some glow and radiance to your skin.

Last but not least is Max Factor Creme Bronzer which remains a staple in my routine even now. Do you remember the hype around their creme blushes a year or two ago? Well, these are pretty much the same – beautiful, pigmented and long-lasting.

Beauty Favourites: Eyes & Lips

When it comes to eyes and lips, there are only two favourites from this month and they’re all I’ve been wearing. First up is Urban Decay Naked Smoky eyeshadow palette, which I received from lovely Karina. She’s an amazing friend, one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met and a great photographer – do check out her blog, you won’t regret it! 🙂 Back to the topic! I had my eyes on this palette ever since it launched but, to be completely honest, I couldn’t justify buying it. I have a collection of palettes and can’t buy another one just because it contains a shade called Whiskey… at least that’s what I’ve been telling myself.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky eyeshadow palette is a nice mixture or natural and grey tones, mattes and shimmers. It’s great for doing a variety of smoky looks, either for you daily make-up or a night out. The shades are pigmented, easy to apply, blendable and long-lasting. The ones I am reaching for the most are Combust, Whiskey and Smolder. Unfortunately it was discontinued so I don’t know if anyone is still selling it.

For lip favourites I jumped on the liquid matte bandwagon and fell in love with Golden Rose Longstay Liquid Matte lipsticks. These are seriously amazing and come in more than 20 different shades! So far I have four, but I will probably add more to my collection. I love them and they cost only around 5€. All the shades I have perform equally well – even the dark ones which are usually problematic. They’re pigmented, long-lasting and survive hours of wear without touching up. Can you say score?

Lifestyle Favourites

I have only one lifestyle favourite this month and it’s my (not so) new Passion Planner! When these first came out, I got their printables (they offer them for free on their site) and ended up using them more than the planner I actually bought. This year I decided to bite the bullet and order the actual planner. It’s a weekly planner with a monthly spread, place to plan your goals, empty pages and so much more. I find it very effective for daily planning, since each day is divided by hours. I will do a full review on it soon, so you can see what’s inside and how I like to plan my days.
